Curtain Drama

I have curtain drama.  I have tried to buy curtains three times in the last 6 months, and every time there has been some mishap.  Today I ordered THE curtains.  They were perfect.  2 hours later, I got a phone call informing me that line had been discontinued!!!  (Pulling out hair)

These are EXACTLY what I want.  The sticking point for these?  They are about $200 over budget.  Why can't anyone just make some made to measure curtains out of a nice linen, that are lined instead of all of this velvet, satin, silk, sheer stuff.  AND make them affordable?

I may never have curtains.

I Spy A Dinosaur's Eye

Here is what I have been up to lately:

This is my first attempt at making a birthday cake that wasn't just round or square. I think it turned out pretty good for a first undertaking.

Remember that invitation inspiration I posted a while ago?  I think mine turned out even better.

And one more Halloween craft my girlfriend Lindsey helped me with.

Halloween Tree

Spray paint a black stick and some rocks.  Check.

Wood Growth Chart

I have had my eye on making one of these for probably two years now.

Chunky Watch Band

I have been wanting to make one of those chunky bead watch bands for a long time, but it hasn't happened yet.  I love this alternative and I actually may try this.  My friend Lindzee gave me this site for cheap watch faces.  I think they were only like $5.

Dry Erase Board

I can think of about 3 of these that I want - one for my kitchen, one for my bedroom, and one for my office.  Definitely adding it to my TO DO list.

Bats!

What?  This is AWESOME!
This is actually one of my friends homes, she really has they creative talent if anyone does.  LOVE!

p.s. I should probably put a side note in that I am LOVING Halloween/Fall decorating this year, but it has to be cute. I don't do gross or scarey.  Any other good ideas out there?

The Images that started it all

These may have been some of the first pictures I found that made me think - I want to try to make that! I didn't make them last year because gilding can be pretty hard to find and a bit pricey, but this year, after studying paint so much from moving to my new home, I found an EASY alternative.

My secret:  SPRAY PAINT!  I didn't get crazy on designs this year, because spray painting itself is a new thing to me, but I still love my copper pumpkins!

Halloween Wreaths

I love both of these.  The only problem is which one to choose!

Purpose of this Blog

I have been trying to decorate my home for the last year and having very little success because I just cannot find what I want.  I recently came to the realization that to get what I want, I am probably going to have to make it.  This blog is basically a place where I can copy, link and trace cute ideas I discover from others.  Unfortunately I am one of the least creative people I know, but I do know how to link on to very creative people and I am trying to learn from them.  I am also the least crafty person I know, so if an idea makes it to this blog, it is probably doable for anyone.  Here we go!
